3 new senior researchers have joined the ICRE8 Core Research Group

Dr. Ebun Akinsete, Dr. Nikolaos Englezos and Dr. Xanthi-Isidora Kartala joined the ICRE8 core research group in September 2016.

Ebun is currently the project manager in the GLOBAQUA (FP7) project and the DAFNE (H2020) project. She is an Associate Lecturer at the School of Applied Social Studies, Robert Gordon University (Aberdeen), and Senior Partner with Nigerian-based consultancy GEN Sustainable Solutions.  With a BSc (Hons) in Architectural Technology, MSc in Project Management and PhD in Urban Regeneration and Sustainable Communities, she has several years of both industrial and academic experience in Europe, Asia and Africa; collaborating with governmental and non-governmental organizations, NGOs, aid organizations, academic institutions, the private sector and local communities.  Her main areas of interest are sustainable development, urban regeneration, SDG policy and implementation, community development, climate change mitigation, renewable energy, stakeholder participation, participatory planning, evaluation and impact assessment for sustainability, and sustainability in developing nations. 

Nikolaos received his undergraduate diploma from Department of Mathematics, University of Athens, Greece. He also received his M.Sc. and M.Phil. in Mathematics and his Ph.D. in Mathematical Finance from the Department of Mathematics, Columbia University in the City of New York, USA. He is a Lecturer at the Department of Banking and Financial Management, University of Piraeus, Greece. He is currently working for the EU project: “A Decision-Analytic Framework to explore the water-energy-food NExus in complex and transboundary water resources systems of fast growing developing countries (acronym: DAFNE)”.

Xanthi received her undergraduate diploma in Mathematics and her M.Sc. in Statistics and Operational Research from the Department of Mathematics, University of Athens, Greece. She also received her PhD in Mathematical Finance from the Department of Statistics, Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece. She is currently working for the EU project: “A Decision-Analytic Framework to explore the water-energy-food NExus in complex and transboundary water resources systems of fast growing developing countries (acronym: DAFNE)”.
